The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Dash vin and 79 registration is one vin. Body, engine, broadcast sheet is another.

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

No no, I have a dash vin tag and a '79 registration with a random 69 Roadrunner vin And I have, body numbers, engine, (not sure about transmission yet) and broadcast sheet with its original vin. Only the dashboard tag matching the 79 registration differentiate from the rest.

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

No offense whatsoever! I encourage discussion! And I know the condition of the car don't worry haha. Whatever happened, happened in '79 and the car was on ebay for everyone to buy, I just had the highest bid at $9500. Seller actually told me that the vin tag doesn't match the rest of the numbers...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

From a web search I had done a while back I read that DMV can issue you a new vin tag if you lost your previous one or something. But this is a different vin! Your wife would know best for sure. Only thing I can imagine is someone had a second car totalled or something and got the vin and...

I would honestly love to hear any theories about it. I'm curious beyond measure.

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Thanks! Well mine is the only Roadrunner in the country but we do have some chargers, half of them General Lees haha, so there might be some shops that can handle a Chrysler 383. Dash says 71something thousand miles. There is a good chance from what I remember from the seller also that the car...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Thanks! That's good to hear! Like I mentioned no one really knows these cars here unfortunately. So heads should be untouched too. I'm not sure if there is anyway to know for sure. You're right. I didn't want to deal with a full rebuild of the motor but if I have to do it I have to do it. I...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Thank you Russ. You're right and that's the way it will most likely go. I might even try doing it myself since these were such simple motors. I have a question if you guys know. Did these motors come originally with metal cylinder head gaskets? A mechanic friend of mine mentioned to me that...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

I might have exaggerated a bit with the crap that fell in. We vacuumed the vast majority of it. Wouldn't a plentiful oil bath send everything else down the the oil pan? Thank you Russ. It's a bit early since I need to inspect the passenger side as well that had the bent pushrods but does that...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

New update guys! Have a happy July! So a friend came by to help see what we can do. As we discussed here too it was best to remove the heads and see what we were dealing with. It was turning to point and then it was stopping with a metal sound. We got the carb off, then the intake. The valley...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Hi everyone! How are you? I've been trying lately that I had some time to get the motor to turn over to change everything and try to fire it up, but unfortunately engine is stuck, I cannot turn it by hand (after removing spark plugs) I've put inside about 100ml on each cylinder of WD-40...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Thank you guys both for the words of encouragement. I tried to turn it and I couldn't do it but I used a simple ratchet not a break bar and I hadn't removed the spark plugs so it would have been hard to turn it anyway. I think I will do what you guys say, I have bought almost everything...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Hi guys what's up! Now that the weather is good I finally jacked up the car to start disassembly. It is a sure grip, wheels both turn the same direction. Now I tried to start the other day and I felt greatly overwhelmed. I was terrified of what's to come. Even considered putting it up for sale...

Crazy money? Mecum `69 road runner.

If that handycap conversion is original from the factory and not aftermarket, I can see how it could bring this much money. Otherwise it's way too much for an auto 383. Not complaining though mine is similar to better speced than that!

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Hello everyone! Happy New Year! Best Wishes for 2023! I apologize for the lack of updates. I bought a lot of parts the roadrunner on Black Friday and shipping and import charges killed me so I've been working hard to not go under haha so nothing done to the car. I did raise it up to see if it's...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

I'm fairly certain that they are flower shaped on the 69s but I want to make sure. This guy can make the VIN tag. https://dataplates4u.com/ Well classic cars don't get registered here. (They are not free to move around either, only a couple Sundays a month and not very far) They get some...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Hey guys what's up? I don't have any updates yet unfortunatelly. I've been working a lot lately to make a big order for parts on Black Friday. Parts to rebuild the suspension, the brakes etc. I also need to install a reproduction dash vin tag. If you guys remember for some reason it was revined...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

So that turned out to be a visual trick of the phone camera! The wheels are parallel :P Question, do I need to remove the K-Member and therefore the engine to remove the front suspension? I was thinking of adding this front suspension rebuild kit to my order. And the rest of the front...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

I noticed that too. I don't think it was like that when it came here. I actually towed it to that place about a kilometer and it was rolling pretty well. I wouldn't get under the car like that either! Not without a couple of cinder blocks and more stuff under there. But the jack stands look very...

The Greek Roadrunner is finally here!

Sorry I should have explained better. I meant can't remove the tires from the rims, so I'll have a shop do it Monday. And I was wondering if it was ok to leave it like that and later with 4 jack stands for extended periods of time.
