You need to grab a good battery and see if you can get him to start it for you, then you need to crawl under it and inspect it a little closer. From your photos it looks to me that the right rear quarter panel has been replaced with a pre-AMD wide lip wheel well opening quarter panel. The...
The trunk drip rail and the radiator support numbers should match the FENDER TAG lower right SON and NOT the VIN as you stated. They are the exact same numbers on the rad support and drip rail with nine (9) characters/numbers, at least on a "G" St. Louis assembly plant built '68 Road Runner. The...
Does it have a 3-Speed wiper motor? Does it have factory A/C, even if the A/C system was removed the firewall and dash will have the telltales of having a FACTORY A/C system. You couldn't get the air grabber-fresh air package with A/C or without a 3-Speed wiper motor. Late to the party but just...
'69 Hemi (survivor) RR with PB booster above the firewall/cowl seam, that's why I think the air grabber cutout is necessary on the Hemi for head and exhaust manifold clearance.
The Hemi brake master cylinder (and vacuum booster) is actually set higher and I think a little to the left (driver's side) away from the BIG HEMI HEADS. I have a couple of photos of power brake booster and master cylinders on 383/440 cars that shows them mounted lower and more centered. Wonder...
Bought my '69 Road Runner new in early Spring of '69, actually ordered it and it took six weeks to get delivered and for how cheap Sunoco 260 was at that time the RR had less than a quarter of a tank when I picked it up from the dealer...............what a cheapskate dealer. It was about 3 miles...
I found the "R" is to identify that the car is a Plymouth B-body or "R" series model as in the prefixes for Plymouth RM = Road Runner, RL for GTX, RS, RH, RP etc.,
That's the block casting clock that goes along with the casting date close to that cc. The "D" = Daylight shift and "N" = Night shift and the clock "hand" is pointing to what I think is the end of an 8-hour shift for that day/night or of the date casting numbers close by.
Yes the "E" = LA assembly plant and the "8" = model year 1968. The R I'm not sure of but my '68 Road Runner which was a St. Louis assembly plant ("G") had G8R and the sequence number found only on the lower right of the fender tag (if you have it) and on a broadcast sheet and dealer order sheet...
Got it, sorry about that......looks good. Always thought that coyote duster decal was one of the best decals on a car ever......after the Road Runner:beep:
Not when I got it but that's one of my long stories. When it was in Youngstown the car was a complete A12 Road Runner complete with original Lift-Off-Hood, original intake, carbs, etc., It still to this day has the original 4.10 A12 specific Dana, Fender tag (unpainted and un-creased/bent...
No I don't have his name, sadly. I've been trying to find him. A friend had a friend/LEO run the VIN and traced it back to the buyer's hometown of Baldwinsville, NY. I wasn't going to get anymore info than that and lucky to have received the hometown information. I was in (East) Syracuse last...
Wow that fits right into this with my A12 RAOAD RUNNER that ended up originally being sold to a Baldwinsville, NY first owner and ending up on a Youngstown, Ohio used car lot and sold to the second owner that had it for over two decades. Of course what would you expect the name of the young town...
Oh :disillusionment::shame: I rest my face......I mean case. I can call you Ray or I can call you J but I won't call you Mr. John anytime soon. Apologies Ray.
