I am sure someone knows this with out much of a thought.

I need to find a 15 inch steel wheel as a spare. I am pretty sure the wheels on the car now are from a full sized van or ??

It has been a while since I bought these.

I am running pizza cutting 15 inch 225's 75's.

I am not worried about numbers matching just need something that will work.

And I just wonder for looks was the spare wheel body colored? Or was it a satin black? Assuming it was a 14" but now 15.

I know on the Hemi cars the spare wheels were body color :yesnod: Want a pic :lmao: It just hit me that the black spares were cars with upgraded wheels!

This would have had the 500's but 14". I'm running 15's but a 383 car. And it's a morphed 440.

I have that late May 68 factory warranty block. I will tame this down in time and put that in there.

So I guess I need satin black then.

But what wheels work and won't scream Chevy?

I would guess that a mid 80's Fifth Ave. wheel would be just what you are looking for. Readily available at most pull a parts.

Seems to me I read that a spare from a Crown Vic cop car is pretty close to a 15" H wheel.

Does it have to be from a Cop car? Or just a Crown Vic?

The X was in law enforcement. Putting a Ford part in is a stretch. Putting a Ford part in and a cop car wheel.

And then in an emergency have to possibly put it to use. Too many memories. And rely on it....It'll never happen!!

Hey I got issues!!! And a green car!!

What about the five bolt van wheels?

Well... is it really a Ford wheel?

I mean does Ford really make the wheel or does someone like Budd or Kelsey Hayes (now Lucas) make the wheel.

Our press at the emblem shop makes stuff for Ford, Chrysler and GM... The die is changed, but the metal comes off the same reel and the same people polish and ship it.

It depends, I have had wheels with the ford stamp on them.

Finish putty and Marhyde Satin black.

So I call my local bone yards and ask for...

Crown Vic, Diplomat or...

15x8x4.5 with 4.5 inch backspacing, 15x6/3.75bs or 15x7/4.0bs?
