I have seen several different air cleaner decals for 1968 Road Runners. What is the decal that was standard on early 1968 Road Runner 383?

which one is determined by which engine was installed originally in your car. I'm not real sure which is which since I have never had a 383 but someone here will probably know.

68 would be the red 383 roadrunner engine pie pan with the roadrunner picture between the road and runner. I did the same research because I have a 69. 69 and up are orange like the engines. I think the 68 RR engine was turquoise. Search the internet, it has a ton of info.

383 Pie Pan.jpg You can see the difference between the red and orange. My car came with the one on top. I'm sure it is not the original engine. If its a base 383 car that's probably what you want.

This is the one that is on it. I want to make sure I have the correct decal.20180521_141731.jpg

NICE!! That looks great. Like quikbird said what ever it came with. If you can find out cool but like I said that looks great.

Really clean engine bay. As I looked the motor is blue. Every one say's this indicates and AC. car. I am putting AC after market in and will leave the motor orange. See the power booster on the brake how do you like the power brake's.

Russ, all 68 Road Runners had turquoise engines. 69 is when they went to orange unless you had a/c.

Ok got ya. Like I said if putting in after market air will keep the orange paint on the motor. Appreciate the heads up.

Rusty thats not how it works. You put A/C on an orange motor and the color changes man, just watch it. :bananaweed:

Some early 69's came with red pie pans. I'm the original owner of a B08 RR and it came with a Red pie pan.

This is a shot of the engine bay in my '68. I bought this car from the original owner in 1976, and didn't change anything except the belts, hoses, tires and exhaust. The red pie pans are available from most parts places, Year One carries them. This was an unrestored car. Yours looks nice!IMG_0448.JPG IMG_0447.JPG
