On my original Carter AFB part# 9636SA-0883 there is a 3/8 connection a few inches from the fuel inlet on the passenger side. What is it for??

That is a bowl vent. But the 9636 is a over the counter carb not the original.

I see. Well it's the carb I bought the car with. Was the original a 625?

here's a list of Mopar Carter carb numbers. Just look up the year and engine. My car has the 4682 on it.
