50 year old original fenders. NOT aftermarket!!!

Gave up on the aftermarket fenders that I bought, (just couldn’t get them to line up like I wanted) pulled out the old rusty fenders I had taken off, patched and welded and made new headlight buckets! Took forever, but back in the race!

Go get them Big Block. Yes working on my 50 year old fenders also. After you talked about how bad they fit and other comments from people. Had a donner fender think it is off a satellite. But it lined up nice when test fitting things. It had layer after layer of paint and primer. Stiped both of them with air craft striper. Could not get into places with the sand blaster. Keep up on it their buddy. Making head way. The head light bucket look's grate so do the fender's.

Now I will start on the right hand fender. will do some more work over on the left fender but it is primed and looks good and will help keep the rust down.

I sprayed mine with acid then rinsed it off let it dry then primed them to stop the old rust bug

Fenders will try your patience believe me. that flash rust is hard to get rid of. good luck

As quick as you clean a piece of metal I prime it with Rust oleum rust converter. Even if I have to sand it off just spray it on again. Getting my finder's painted now. Have a problem with spilling clear coat don't know why but it happens. Spent two day's wet sanding out spills on the sail panel area and down the rear quarter. Took my time with a paint stick and 2000 girt wet sand paper. Hope it will work out. Keep up the good work their Big block. Think the fenders where worth saving.

Welded in the homemade headlight bucket, sandblasted, sanded and welded a rust hole. The right fender went much better than the left.
