Hi guys, sorry for the bad pic, but it's all I have at the moment. This is also the most sparse fender tag I've ever seen! Could you guys work your magic and tell me what it means?

bottom up 1st line 383mag-d21 4sp vin #rm23 hardtop your car was built in st Louis mo.G in vin -----------------2nd line t5-t5 body color/ roof color----------------t7 is the gut I think bench seat ------------------build date jan 6 1969 v21 is hood treat or stripe delite end

Thanks Mahoney, That confirms that the car has all original equipment. I was told the car was a no hood stripe/no side stripe. Plain Jane as it gets.

You said "T7 is the gut I think". This is probably a rookie question here, but what is "the gut"? Is "T7" the color of said gut? LOL, Thanks again.

Gut = Interior. Doors and metal under the side windows and such would be painted T7

Ahh, Thanks! I would have mistakenly painted it the T5 that the exterior was being done in. Dodged that bullet simply by asking.

The car has 2 tone (saddle/bronze) bench seats/door panels. The tag does read T5 T5 H2T T7. Does this mean T5 Whole exterior. T7 interior doors (above and below door panels)/under rear side windows, trim around the headliner, etc.? Or does the H2T T7 mean the painted parts are T5 and the soft interior parts (seats, headliner, dash pad, etc.) are T7?

Just want to get it right. Thanks for putting up with me guys!

Sorry to keep beating this horse, but can an "RU23" be a Roadrunner? All of the fender tag decoders say this is a Satellite/Belvedere. Most of the Roadrunner Hardtops have an "RM23" code. This IS a really base (Low) option car, no options other than the chrome drip rail moldings. And to my knowledge, there was no way (other than a Roadrunner) to get a hardtop, bench seat, 383 4barrel, 4 speed

(from mymopar.com's decoder)

That's the issue, I don't have the vin tag yet. Current owner that is painting the car has the car. He sent me the picture above. It could be an "RM" on the fender tag. The pic is so blurry it's hard to tell. I'll give him a call tomorrow.

Thanks for putting up with me guys!

Pretty sure your going to find its a RM on the VIN because there is no such thing as a RU.

as previously stated by yours truly...clean your glasses (or put them on Spongey):jester:

I know it's been a while, but I picked up the last of the parts, VIN tag, Fender tag, & title. All match and it is an RM on all tags. (better picture)
