At least he has cool Road wheels and didn`t have to steal the boring steel wheels and hubcaps off his grandmas car. :p
My car had steelies on it when I first got it. Still have them and they might go back on the car for a different look. Besides I like the plain jane look. That little bird on the doors gets all the attention the car or I need!

It's your car. Build it the way you want to build it. The next guy, can always change it back to original or will change things his way anyway.
I know a buddy that has a 72 Chevelle SS. He is the original owner and in the last 20 years it has gone from an all original numbers matching mint condition show/cruiser to now a 655" tubbed out Pro Street drag and drive machine. It's his car, he is doing what he wants with it.

Thank you for all of your advice! Gives me things to think about. I did find that apparently the engine is not numbers matching as i was told. But gotta keep moving forward with the project. Color may stay the same but i will be changing to a 4 speed. It's great to see pictures of all your cars on here. You folks have some beautiful cars! Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the what's worthe more game, but i just don't think I can be that guy. I guess I just need to enjoy the car like they did back in the day.

The non original engine makes it a lot easier to do what you want with the car. No harm in any of the changes you want to do, if it makes you happy, I say go for it!
