I don't think gaps were perfect even from the factory.
They were far from perfect back then. I don`t go for perfect even gaps like some do I just get them as good as factory or maybe a bit better.I don't think gaps were perfect even from the factory.
I would never do caps over the frame rails I would just cut out the bad sections and weld in new sections. I wasn`t even aware AMD sold caps?I am putting in AMD rear frame caps on my '70 Road Runner because the rear crossmember was toast and the guy who I bought the car from just ignored it. I put in re-located spring shackle reinforced mounts prior to buying the frame caps so I have had to grind them down a bit at the bottom of the original frame so the cap will fit over it. Even when touching the bottom of the original frame the cap is 5/8" lower than the original frame at the very rear. I'll adjust for it on the new rear crossmember. Anybody else have a similar situation?
