`70 road runner - finally getting to the restoration!

Restoration work is so much money and time for sure. I appreciate everyone's work and labor when doing everything that they can themselves. We have my buddy's 70 Challenger up on my rotisserie currently restoring it. He wants it done, running and driving this summer.

I don`t have any hard deadline for being done but I ain`t getting any younger and want to enjoy it soon, at least I do have my Barracuda to drive. I do want it at least painted by this fall which should be a very realisitc goal.

Got a warm enough day to blast all the surface rust spots on the drivers fender. Got most of dents pulled jus need to weld up a few holes from some of the studs being pulled out. I need another warm day so I can paint the door hinges and door jambs then I can hang the doors to check the lines to the fenders as I know at least the drivers side needs some massaging.

When you first start thinking this won't take that long. Bought three quarters of my car with all new sheet metal. Yes, it went on and on. Oh God just let me turn this corner. Then the worst happened when I installed the roof skin. Went to put the glass in and it would not fit. Broke one after installing it. It looked good and then I heard a pop. Walked back and it had shattered. Had to have a company make me one to fit. Expensive but got it done. :praying:

Before I do the filler work on the fenders I need to hang the doors back on so I can check the lines and fine tune so I sprayed some In-Violet on the hinges and jambs.

Not much progress lately as I've been busy with wife, kids, house etc. but even when I have had some free time lack of motivation has kicked in. I think it is a combination of a long, cold, snowy winter and being in the seemingly never ending bodywork stage that has me a bit beat up both physically and mentally. I guess I needed a short break from it as any of you who have done a major project understand. So since it's finally spring it's time to get my Barracuda ready for the season. I just replaced the battery and other than an oil change at some point it's ready. I do have an AAR hood I want to put on that I bought a while back so decided to get it ready, it's pretty good quality but of course it needs a bit of ...... bodywork!
