Good morning. I have rebuilt a 1969 Roadrunner. I am looking for a 8-3/4”, Surgrip, 3:55 gear ratio third member. I have a few upgrades!
If anyone knows where I can find a used, or new 8-3/4”, Surgrip, 3:55 gear ratio (or close to this ratio). I can be reached at kensiebe@gmail.com.
Thanks.

I do not have 1 for sale but I wanted to inquire about what looks a 4 link set up THANKS

You're welcome.
You can pick the gear ratio in a drop down.
I think his LSD are cone style so you don't need LSD additive either. Shipping was reasonable as well, paid $45 from Montana to Kentucky.
He's super helpful, just email or call him. He's my go-to for brakes and drivetrain and helped my butt out couple of times ;-)

You're welcome, Ken. Make sure to tell him if your rear end is running the green bearings or regular roller bearings as wheel bearings as well. In case you're running the green bearings like I do, he'll remove the thrust block from the center of the diff that is needed to provide preload for the roller bearings. I think that's another selection in his drop downs as well. Good luck!

Hi Tom,
Ok. Right on. There is no substitute for experience. Thank you for these pieces of the rear diff puzzle!
I am running green bearings. They were installed as part of the Wildwood disc brake upgrade, I got done a couple of years ago. Something about how the mounting plate fit onto the diff.
I wonder if that brake shop removed that thrust block in the 4:56 Surgrip center section when they installed the green bearings. Causing the rear end to howl like it does.
I probably only have less than 1 hour drive time since I pieced this car together. And that 1 hour consists of short 10-15 min runs around my small home town.
I appreciate your time and knowledge.
Ken

Anytime, Ken. They probably left the thrust block in there, that's what's causing the whining. Yikes! It's a job to take the thrust block out since you have to remove and disassemble the ring gear section. And set it all back up afterwards. They probably took the short cut. But you can get it right when ordering the correct unit now ;-)
Have a great weekend!
Tom
