My replacement upper A arms came with a washer, spacer and castle nut. The A arms I took off the car did not have the spacer or perhaps it's a bushing. Anyway the stock one didn't have this. My car is a 68 roadrunner with manual steering. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jim

AZ Desert,
It sounds like the a-arm has the ball joint in it already. Fit it onto the spindle and if you have plenty of threads to torque it down I would not use them. I did the same on a 68 runner which is the same as 69-70 and had it aligned with no problems drove great
