Have installed a new 383 Mopar and want to reuse original oval air breather (Coyote Duster). Due to Edelbrock manifold, I'm about 1 1/2 inches too high for the air breather to fit into the original air grabber hood. Is there a way to recess the breather or is there a low profile option that might work and still provide enough air flow to the engine?? Any suggestions appreciated.

You need a base plate for a 440. It is not as tall, and will make clearance for the aftermarket intake.

Can replace the current air filter assembly with a 440 4bbl one but Chrysler says there's no more in North America. Just need the base plate/retainer so that the filter sits a little lower. There's an aftermarket part that exists for a whopping $ 325. Gotta be some out there in someone's garage who updated from the 4bbl to the six pack. Check under those benches.
