I'm getting ready to build a 400 stroker and getting all the information I can from all you fellows.
What aluminum heads are most of you using and why?

THANKS

Forced into buying a set of aluminum heads for my 383. The 906 ones got a crack in it between 5 and seven leaking on the outside. Bought a set of 440 source heads and are aluminum. Now the motor runs much cooler than before. Did not have to change the push rod size mine worked fine. Standard rockers still. No roller. Well worth the money. :thumbsup2:

Indy Cylinder Heads built my engine which include Indy aluminum heads. It’s a 572 with 918 hp and 900 lbs torque and never goes beyond 220 degrees in hot summers with AC blasting. Those Indy heads are the best I’ve ever used… and I’ve tried them all. Not saying others are not good… a lot are good, just not quite as good as the Indy. There’s a reason a lot of pro drag racers go the Indy route!

The 440 Source heads are the most original looking cost-effective cylinder heads out there you will still need to take it apart and make sure everything's clean and Prelude the valves for cautious and to ensure it's properly put together if you go with elderbrocks or other heads out there they don't look original for me I would use the 440 Source heads I am using stage 6 aluminum heads on my 400 block but that's a different story

One important thing that I did forget to mention was when using the Indy aluminum heads you also have to go with the TTI Headers due to the angle of the exhaust ports. The Indy head configuration with the TTI headers really push the exhaust out much faster than the other (well known) heads. The dyno results were significantly improved after switching from 440
Source and Edlebrock with Hookers to the Indy with TTI’s
