Another NEW guy!! Starting my project

Picked up my RR a couple days ago and about to start taking things apart. Starting on the floor pan first. Car seems pretty solid so far but I’m sure yall know how that story ends! The underside looks great with no rust on any frame rails. My question is, what are y’all doing to strip the underside for epoxy prep? I was going to sandblast myself with a HF blaster.

Does it still have the factory costing on it. Used a putty knife and a heat gun pointed to the putty knife blade. Then to the wire wheel. Which was steady pulling some of the bristles out of me. No pain no gain. Coated bottom with Eastwood bed liner after priming with epoxy primer. Bought a bottom can spray gun from harbor freight with two flexible extensions. One 180 degree fan an other 360. The only to get ever where I wanted to paint and handle the thick primers and coatings. Find you will have to thin both product so the gun will handle it. Ps. Don't take too much apart so you have points to measure from. Some guys take too much apart then can not get them back together again.

Thanks Russ! Good tip, I definitely need to measure things before I go to town ripping things apart.

Welcome! How you strip the underside depends on how rusty it is, nice wasn`t too bad except the trunk floor which I replaced so I did it all by hand and then used a rust encapsulator. Hindsight being 20/20 I wish I had the whole shell sandblasted but it wasn`t feasible at the time (money/logistics). Mine doesn’t have much rust on the bottom except for floor and trunk pans, which I’m going to replace as well. Rust encapsulator is a good idea since I’m not doing a factory look.
