Re: Anyone know of a 69 Hemi Convertible 4speed in Y2 yellow

There were only 12 made total. 10 for U.S. comsumption and 2 for Canada. Of the 10 U.S. cars, 4 were 4-speed, and 6 were auto. No trans break-down for the Canada models. I've only seen one hemi-vert in person, and it belonged to a friend of mine. It is Y2, but an automatic. It is now for sale by Legendary up in Canada.

BTW, welcome to THE '69 Road Runner forum.... Intro section?

By most accounts 5 are known to still exist; two F8 4-spds, a Y2 auto, a Q5 auto, and a gold (never seen the paint code) 4-spd.

I have pics of three of them.

The last one is the car of which I speak......

BTW, he (John) now has a stunning A4 A12. Non-vinyl, column auto with blue bucket interior....sweet car!

He had the Platinum A12 in the T Building (IIRC) at Carlisle last year when they had the LOH Reunion. Absolutely a beautiful car. Should show up in a magazine sometime soon; they took photos of if at that show. John sold me the 4193 body that was used when Bill O. restored my carbs. Really a good guy.

Yes he is, I've been trying to get him to join this forum.... He has a wealth of restoration knowledge to share, as well as good ol' fashioned street racing stories. I worked with him on the A12 after it was painted. He would love to take it out and roast the rubber, but you know how that goes....once you get 'em to a certain level, you really can't flog 'em....

That's why you should NEVER restore your car! :worship:

I used to own a 69 R6 4speed convertible. The buildsheet under the seat was
for this Y2 hemi convertible. The VIN was just a few off from mine. Pretty cool
find. Wonder if it got wrapped around a tree early in its life???

I have also heard rumors of a red J-Code drop-top... :yesnod:

When was the last time that you saw this car?

Why don't you head over to the intro section, start a new thread, and tell us about yourself?

Please contact Barry Washington at this site and tell him of your find.

http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/contact.shtml

Barry has a database of found broadcast sheets. Maybe... just maybe that car is out there.

The red one I sold about 5-6 years ago. Bought it in the atlanta area
cant remember where it went after I sold it. R6 Console 4speed it was
numbers matching. Nice driver. Had white top, was supposed to be black
black interior.
