What color was the battery tray leaving the assembly line? Body color, semi-gloss black, flat black...etc.? Preparing to recon mine...thanks.
 
Question, how does the battery tray transform itself from body paint color to black? I see allot of pictures of some high dollar GTX's and RR's with a black tray. I have a little prep work left with my tray before I place a base coat primer on it... so I just wanted to ask this again before I place the final topcoat...don't want to revisit this particular project.

The color changes from acid and rust ruining them they are then replace with new black parts. They should be body color.
 
Just because they are "high dollar" cars, that doesn't make them correct. Body color is correct.
