Best Gear Oil for the A-833 4 speed

What is the best gear oil for all you A-833 users and how much does the ranny take to fill it.

I used 90 weight gear oil. 2 bottles did the trick.

Here in Canda two bottles can mean anything. Two bottles of rye just to get going then do the trans. Would that be pints or quarts. Everything here is in litres. :basketcase:

The Service Manual says:
U.S. Measure: 7.5 pints
Imperial Measure: 6.25 pints

I had to put some 85W-140 in mine to get enough drag to make the gears drop in smoothly, especially going from N into R.

Something to consider if you have a high mile trans. I thought mine was fubar with ATF and then syn manual trans fluid. The heavy stuff made it work great.

Pennzoil synchromesh, you will find it shifts better!
