I had a NOS Hemi carb that I bought with a bunch of parts. Sold it for $100 back about 1984.

I wouldn't feel bad about it Bob. In '74 I sold my first '69 RR for $500, cause that's all it was worth then. But if I knew then what the value of these cars would become 30 plus years later, I would have kept the car and preserved it somehow. :brickwall:

I saw guys lining up at FBBO trying to get it from him. A date correct set Ive watched go for $3000. But these were running and removed in nice shape, but not restored. the rear carb with the choke and dash pot pull more than the front one. That's why I backed off a little, but I think it would bid up to and maybe over a grand. $800 is a safety net, I imagine you got it for a song

I had a 1968 Dart with a factory 383 Auto/ Green with Green interior in 1977. It had a spun Bearing so I sold it for $200 and bought Cragers for my 72 Swinger I was driving. I know the feeling. Did not hurt at all back then. But it does now!

I was recently helping somebody move. I was putting stuff in the attic and found some newspapers from the mid-70's. Being a history teacher, I always enjoy this stuff. I couldn't believe the classifieds and what cars were going for. Mustangs, novas, dusters, chevelles, you name it for 2, or 3, or 400 bucks. I sat their in disbelief shaking my head a laughing for a while.

I think I've told you guys before that I paid $175 for my first RR back in 1980. RM23 383/4-speed with N96. But it was green so that is probably why he wasn't asking $400 or more... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
