clutch rod question

the clutch rod from pedal to Z-bar should 13 7/8 inches , the A-body is 14 1/4 inches is that the only difference? can I take an A-body and cut it down and weld it to the 13 7/8 that I need ? also the openings on the rod are a D shape (dont look worn) is there some type of bushing that goes on first or is that the way they are?

Never compared them side by side although I have both. I'm gonna guess that you're on the right track though.

No bushing that I'm aware of...I seem to recall seeing a good pic in Bob's resto thread; Bob am I halucinating again?

Spring clips, and thin washers as side bushings but nothing in the D. Make sure you get the same bends in it.
