Colour of a 73 distribution valve

Cleaned this up just recently and wondering what colour should it be. Don't want it to rust again before installing it this summer.

If it were me I'd go with a shade of gray from rustoleum or krylon

Get some cast iron gray paint. Remember DOT 3 will remove it in a hurry

Thanks for the replies. Going to order a rebuild kit for it https://www.musclecarresearch.com/kh-kit-1 , so I'm assuming it's a Kelsey-Hayes iron combination proportioning valve.

That should do the trick ! Be interesting to see if it is truly brake fluid resistant
