stupid question time!!! after decoding the tag (C16) console w/ woodgrain panel! wiuod the car still be column shift?
No. Is the car coded for bucket seats? Just trying to rule out an error on the tag or carstupid question time!!! after decoding the tag (C16) console w/ woodgrain panel! wiuod the car still be column shift?
That's odd then since that is the bucket seat code. All the tags I've seen (which trust me isn't many and I'm far from an expert) and have C16 also have C55. Pretty hard to have a console without buckets. Can you post a picture of the tag? Maybe one of the guys who really know the tags will weigh in. Who knows maybe one factory did it one way and another did it different. Would not be surprised. No sir!
I think we may looked at the same tag!!i kinda got everything else figured out, but I haven’t a chance to really look over the car! I’m in the Dre area and the car is in west Tx. The fender tag and the vin plate all match upGot me man. I just looked at another St Louis tag that had C16 & C55.
To answer your original question though I would think it would not be column shift with a console. And it would have to be bucket seats. I think though there would be a hole in the transmission tunnel if it were a console shift car, similar to a manual. But again I'm not expert, I'm guessing here.
Don’t forget, to keep up with demand Plymouth was winging it with road runners (good pun). I learned the Satellite version was slated officially as a road runner even though not body style of Belvedere. Always thought they were cloned.
Another interesting thing, 2 versions of the 383 existed, standard and hi-performance version. Something about longer duration, higher lift camshaft, good for 5 more HP or other. You can have a 383 but not correct version. Not aware of this with 440; meaning, just remembering back from 50 years.
