I have a 68 bench seat car and the column shifter is sloppy. If I hold the handle back it’s good but there seems to need some tension on the back side. Before I push the pin out to release the handle id like to know what’s going to happen. Is there a spring behind the handle or a bushing. I’ve looked for parts and even someone to rebuild the column but no luck. Anyone here have some knowledge of what to do.
