Chip,

Is the dash frame still in the car?

If so is all the wiring in to?

If so you need a 1/4 drive with along extension for the pal nuts.

I used 10/24 nuts with loose washers and it was alot easier.

If the dash frame is out of the car it's a whole lot easier and I still would use the 10/24 nuts to install it.

Just my :cents:

It is difficult to get up in there with extensions & universals, but I've heard of folks doing it. By the time you get everything out of the way, you may as well just remove the dash....it's much easier that way IMO. The windshield has to come out to get to the bolts/screws. Maybe you can combine the dash pad replacement with a new windshield, or cowl trough repair? Also while it's out, it's a great time to clean up and detail!

My 2 cents...

It's not easy at all. Last time I did mine I used some magnetic inserts in the sockets. They helped to hold the pal nuts in place. Hopefully never again.

Here is a pic of the inserts I used.
