I realized that I don't have a key for my locks. That never crossed my mind last year when everything was apart. Is it possible to take the car to a locksmith to get a key made? Or am I stuck with removing the cylinder?

I would imagine it cheaper to take a cylinder in. Remember ignition and doors are the same and trunk and glove box are a match

Great. How easy/hard is to remove the cylinders? I kinda remember them being a pain in the rear.

Anyways, thanks for the information.

The real pain is taking the door panel off. There is a linkage for the lock on the end of the cylinder, becareful not to drop it. It has to be disconnected from the cylinder before you remove it. There is a clip that you will have to remove. Once removed the cylinder will come right out.

OK. Thanks. I do remember trying to get all that stuff unhooked. I guess I'll probably go keyless for awhile. Not like I've ever used the locks anyway.

Take out both door locks and bring your ignition key to the locksmith and get him to change the tumblers to match your ignition. Keeps you from carrying three keys around.

BTW, if you are ever locked out, the easy way is to slide a small screw driver under the vent window and unlatch the vent. Just don't let a cop see you do that or you'll have to answer a lot of questions..... Oh wait... never mind about the cop thing..

Haha. Thanks for the vent window tip. I guess I gotta suck it up then and remove the locks again.

I just finished putting a cylinder in, rekeyed to the ignition. I only did one for right now. Now that I know what I'm doing, it shouldn't be too bad to do the other down the road.

Thanks for the help guys.
