Made a few pulls today after the mill work, etc. was 392hp 407tq before.
Got 404hp and 420tq on first pull. Then changed out the carb and ran her again.
Final numbers are 431hp and 440 tq. Needless to say I am buying that carb.

Very happy with results!! She should pull pretty good!!

Nice! What carb was that?

It is a Pro Systems carb. 850 base plate with 750 Venturi. Gave us 20 HP
over the Holley 750. Amazing. Not cheap though.

I hear a lot of good things about Patrick and Pro Systems. In fact, what I didn't know, was that the dyno shop used an old 750 they had laying around (NOT a Pro Series) and got 20 HP over the Holley Double Pumper that I used for my build. I thought they were using the Pro Series. When I asked today, he said the Pro Series will perform even better than the 431HP/440TQ numbers we got.

I truly can't believe that a Carb makes THAT much difference. Thought the Holley was one of the best.

Actually, it was a "shop carb" that Mike had laying around. It was a 750 Holley Performance Series that was probably 10 years old and hadn't been used in at least 2 years. Accelerator pumps were hard as rocks. Mike replaced them and a couple of other gaskets, slapped that puppy on, and BAM! 431 HP! Nice Smooth Power Curve too!
