I started tearing the engine down today. There was rust on the inside of the valve covers. There are bolts missing from the covers, also one bolt missing from the intake manifold.

I can't tell much from that angle.

Could just be corosion built up on it from nonuse.

You can get bolt sets from ARP pretty cheap.

Its hard to tell condition from the pics. The cam looks rusty from sitting around. I think you can write it off.

If you haven't ordered the intake pan w/ the blocked heat riser, do so now.

I found out the hard way that when you need one the local Advance doesn't stock it.

I keep a few on the shelf at all times now.

What heads are on there? Look at the last three numbers that are cast on the top of the head. Just wondering if someone ever swapped out the original 906's in the cars lifetime.

Lookin good man! You're on your way.....

the engine loks pretty clean so far. mine was lousy with heavy sludge.

looks good. i am typing before i look, but i may have some of the original hardware that you are missing. give a list and i will see what i have stored away in about 100 baggies.

As long as there's enough rust, I'm pretty sure you don't need any of those bolts. :D
