I have an original 70 Road Runner & I'm planning to exchange the 4 speed with Passon for a rebuilt unit. But not if matching numbers get lost. Does the original trans. have any matching numbers to the engine or frame ? Thanks, Rocket

if you are worried about numbers matching, your only choice is to rebuild the tranny you have. you need to keep the case with the correct numbers. that being said, double check the numbers on the case and make sure some previous owner did not change it out already. :encouragement:

Thanks to all of you. I'll look before exchanging it. 45 years is a long time to hope for original. Rocket

If the car is original as you say, that may not be too much to hope for.
Mine is original with numbers matching drive train.
