would you be able to use the same drive shaft from an 8 3/4?

I don't know mine is I believe is 59" I have an 8 3/4 road gear (grandma) gears

My dad took the Dana out of my mom's '70 RR and the same drive shaft fit the 8 3/4 that he replaced it with so it should work.

my buddy said he would sell me the Dana 60 4:10 for $1000 & my 8 3/4 3:23. plus he'll do all the work in his shop. Sounds OK to me. There's a Dana 60 in pieces for sale on Craigslist for $2000.
