hardtop # post car ???

have you or anyone seen this mix up..lol..got me baffled.. even engine and trans are stamp in the right spot that I could see this afternoon..looked up lynch road and the went down different assembly lines.. and there is NO sign of there ever being a crank down window. And the Mystery continues....

Here is a kicker for you . From 68 to early 69 they used one header and hood assembly then in late 69 to 70 they use a different hood and header. Think they had so many parts made in 68 so they used up what they had. I dose make since in the fact their not going to just throw away a bunch of parts all ready made. From a business stand point the bottom line. Like finding a 68 production motor in a 69 car.

Is your car an early or late production car. Maybe how you are getting different numbers. That is if someone had it before you and replaced part's.

all numbers match so far...one suggested maybe post was added to stiffen body..but photo show factory installation..build oct7 I think it was,, CRS latley....

how are things in the sand PILE Russ,, hope you and family are healthy with this nastiness going around...

Factories try to use much of inventory they had. When i bought mine it was late in june of '68 one dealer had 13 left 12 coupes and one 2dht My 2dht 68 came with big rad which was only for a/c which it did not have.

Might have been ordered with the Max cool option 492

The 26” big radiator also comes with an axle package, Trailer towing, Or HD cooling. The rad support opening is made 22” or 26” before the car gets painted. So they know what they are building ahead of time.
