Hello Fellas! Can anyone tell me where I can purchase 7.25 rear shock plates and U bolts? I was changing the rear shocks on my newly acquired 1975 Scamp, and yep, you guessed it, I busted the stud on the shock plate.... :brickwall:

Check over on FABO.com people part out 7.25 cars all day long. ummm isn't it a 75? If it is then it should have an 8.25 which has a 3 inch tube so one from an 8.75 will work or just have a new stud welded on.

Randy's says the 7.25 was used in the A-Bodies until their demise in '76. Not the gospel...but see below...

I may have one...have to look...which side?
Why do you need U-Bolts? Broke them too or expecting to have to cut them off?

I'm 90% certain it's a 7.25 - teeny tiny rear...lol

Ray, I need the right side (passenger). If you could help, that would be very appreciated!
So far the U bolts are fine......so far.

Sorry, Harry. Meant to go look last night and got derailed with other stuff... Stay tuned...

No worries, a member over at FABO is sending me a set.
Hopefully they will be cool. Thank you for the offer Ray - I really appreciate it. I may still end up needing yours.....

I'll be picking the A-body group of Neurons in your brain for sure!

Well........received shock/spring plates. Now I need to call auto parts stores tomorrow.....

The U bolts needed to be hacked! I just went toe to toe with 'em for over an hour. Each turn of the nut was a ball buster. WD 40, Red wrench, then hacksaw. whew. :leave:
