I know we all love pictures on here. So, I thought I'd start a thread of famous Mopars. Hopefully, others will get into the game. I figure with as many older guys like myself on here, there should be a lot of history and experiences to share. Probably the most famous of all Mopars are the Sox and Martin cars:

I just moved back south from Philadelphia this summer after being there for 12 years. One of my favorite places to go in Philly is the Simeone Automotive Museum. Every year my brother visited, we went to Simeone. There are many race cars in his collection, including a half dozen NASCAR related such as this 1970 Plymouth Superbird:

Richard Petty, in one of the worst wrecks in NASCAR, trashes his 1970 Roadrunner.

Amazing 1960 Plymouth XNR concept car has an amazing story, which includes a life owned by the Shah of Iran. Could this be inspiration for the 1971 RR?

I remember watching Petty's wreck at Darlington on TV.

That wreck pushed NASCAR to mandate the window net just like Earnhardt's wreck brought about the Hans device.

I was NOT expecting a leaning tower of power under the hood...

1960 was the fist year for the slant and I would expect that Chrysler would want to promote their new engine. It was pretty sophisticated engine especially compared to the flathead six that proceeded it.

I have this old Maxie in the driveway...

It was campained for Chrysler by the Small and Ellerman duo and won the winternationals in 71 and 72 in SS/EA and set the NHRA record.
It had one of the first 4 "model J" torque converters and the only one on the west coast which gave it a definite advantage.
I found it about 7 years ago in a backyard where it had been sitting on this trailer since 1973.
Someday I am gonna get the old warhorse running again...
