I69 intake question

I took mine and measured the distance to have hood clearance. Do have a holly mid rise intake. Cut the piece that fit on my four barrel carb. Used my plasma cutter to free it from base plate of breather. Put it back in base sitting on carb. Adjusted till hood would clear with hole assemble air filter and all. Then marked it. Welded it back into the base with wire feed welder. Now putting screens in call outs and in stalling left and right air ducts to the center piece. Hope to have it finished soon. Still have to install control cables also.

I ordered a 440 base from pg classics out of Canada, $500 after tariff, should be here tomorrow, no sure what I will do with the original 383 base?

My car is a stock 383 with a real air grabber set up from the factory, but I’m using the 69 air grabber based instead of the 70 because I think it looks better stock manifold with an Edelbrock carburetor and it fit just fine. I swapped out to a sniper being that the sniper is a little bit higher. I took the plate to a machine shop and I just cut a quarter of an inch off of the bottom and now it sits on top of the sniper with a small little supplied cork gasket, beautiful

Weiand 8009 intake and the proper 440 base for the air cleaner should get there…..
