Is the comp 509 cam appropriate for street driving?

Hey everyone! New to the group, however I have been a Roadrunner fan all my life! I am restoring a 70 RR, 383/ 727 Torque Flight 3 speed Automatic,
Had an engine builder rebuild a motor for me, his formula for my ask was (my ask: street drivable but I want some HP as well) bored .30 over, speed pro flat top pistons, 2.14 valves, new roller rockers and lifters, 509 cam, 906 heads, ported and polished intake and heads, honed engine block, 650 edelbrock, 28-32 stall converter.
I am installing an electric fan and vacuum pump, but have yet to drive it. From some of the other posts that I have seen, I am now curious is this combination appropriate for my ask? Thoughts?

It's going to be fairly strong for the street but it's streatable but if you have power brakes and you have a vacuum pump you're going to have to be careful when you start driving this car to get a feel for how it's going to break and stall converter might be a little difficult on the street you should run a transmission temperature gauge to keep an eye if you're running an automatic how it's going to handle and perform your cast iron heads as an engine builder nowadays to me is a waste with the stealth 440 aluminum heads which look just like stock heads and they're better flowing right out of the box and they improve performance and Cooling and a whole bunch of other things so I don't know who your engine builder is but I think he's a little behind the times

Thanks VRD. Appreciate the insight and suggestions. I will look into the temp gauge for the transmission. The builder did have me install a transmission cooler and a 4 core aluminum radiator to help with temperature concerns. I will look into the aluminum heads further. I may have to add that to the restoration list and timeline. Thanks again!

If you see that your water temp is a little high invest in the kooler flow water pump because the amount of water that it moves is amazing you drop mine 10° in the Florida Heat

Do you run electric or mechanical fan and if you run a mechanical is it a thermostatic clutch fan or a centrifugal clutch fan or is it a fixed Flex fan

Duly noted regarding the water pump as well. Thank you! Running hot is a concern of mine especially driving in an “awesome RR hot box” in Florida! lol
I am switching to an electrical fan, I have a mechanic friend of mine helping to build a bracket for the electric fan to bolt up accordingly. I am getting away from the flex fan the engine builder included in the final build.

I already start looking for trans temp gauges as well! ️

I run a six blade thermostatic fan clutch with a shroud on my 26 inch Griffin radiator and it's no problem to run my AC and be able to enjoy my car and you know how the stop lights are down here they're 4 minutes long sometimes I get up to about 210 but within a mile down the road I'm back down to about 190 if I can cruise down the highway I'll stay right around 180 988 to 192 and that's with the AC on with the AC off I'll run mid to low 180s down the road at speed 70 miles an hour

I just went up the turnpike to Leesburg got from Kissimmee for a show and car ran fantastic all the way up there and back no concerns whatsoever so much fun

Duly noted! Congrats! That’s where I am looking to get to eventually. I am the path of being able to drive it, however let’s see how small local drives go before any adjustments. Thanks again for sharing.

No, no shows as of yet. I am hoping to attend a few this year, however it’s not fully restored. Need a paint job and will look at the rear and fuel tank next year. Do you drive your runner or tow it to shows?
