Sold the 69 Charger and now I have $20k in the account to play with.
So here is the starting point - a derelict 70 Belvedere.
I bought it with a 340 and 727 for $500 about 5 years ago.
After driving it for about 6 months I yanked the 340 and 727 and sold them for $750 bucks.
I already installed front disc brakes from a 72 duster.
I also have a nice set of 70 Coronet fenders and a hood.

the resto-mod street race Superbird plan

I really had fun at Willow Springs at the Mopar festival of speed a few years back when I got to drive Sean Machado's Daytona and now I want to build a car that is street legal but could handle track day without issue. In this flavor but Superbird

To see what I want to do and why, here is some video of him going around Willow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ij9HK2GNTbQ

Here is my loose plan:
- Superbird body in Alpine white - https://www.aarqualityfiberglass.com/products/kit-superbird

- 600 HP 426/6.1 CRATE HEMI WITH CNC PORTED 5.7 EAGLE HEADS - http://www.indyheads.com/6.1hemiengines.html

- 5-speed manual trans with hydraulic clutch - http://www.proformancepowertrain.com/mopar/transmissions/b-body_66-70-auto.html

- AlterKtion Coil-Over System - https://www.reillymotorsports.com/store/product.php?productid=16183&cat=269&page=1

- Frame connectors and rollcage.

- Minimalistic aluminum interior with Mopar gauges in a custom cluster -

- willwood discs on all 4 corners - https://www.reillymotorsports.com/store/home.php?cat=271

Any thoughts?

Maybe the simple plan is better?

Okay.
After some serious talks with Sean Machado and having him laugh at my grandiose plan I think I might go with simple instead of exotic.
here is what he says about his car (the white Daytona):

My car has no cage and no frame connectors. Now if I was to auto cross the car I’d put a bigger bar up front, and add spring to the rear to match the upgrade up front. But to be honest.. Autocross is boring.

Koni reds, 1.04 T-bars and a big front sway bar. That’s it. Well....FFI fast ratio steering, and I boxed the lower control arms. Stock Hemi suspension in the rear. Cordoba 11 3/4 rotors with Brake Man calipers. I have 15x10s all the way around on mine..

What ever Hotchkiss says I usually do the opposite.. Every time those cars are on the track their not impressive at all.. All that work for nothing gained..... Same with the cars with the Willwood brakes.. I just saw an interview with a Joie Lagano (NASCAR driver” and he was talking about this Chevelle with over 150k in all the top end stuff.. I drove circles around that car at Willow..

But hey, with my car I can’t point out how much I spent on it.. With those you can....

I wish I had the video of a guy “who has had a lot of track time” in his 2011 zo6 and I go at it for 3 laps at Willow. I got him coming off turn 6 and could slowly pull away from him but then would catch traffic.. But was a lot of fun racing him.. His comment was funny.. He told himself in the morning that there would be no Mopars passing him today... When I went by him he was trying his hardest to get me back... LOL... Didn’t happen..

Oh please... let me get this out there and eat some Z06 with my car when it is done...please!
