Going through the front steering today. My 69 has LH wheel studs at each corner. Already did rear axle to RH. These should only have been on one side correct?

Yes only one side was left handed. I changed all mine to right handed thread. Due to no one out their at tire stores or shop's know of that. They would ring them off trying to change a tire for you. Those shoes look pretty worn. That is one of the first things to check on a use car. Better be able to stop and don't want to mess up a wheel drum.

My car was claimed to have been driven into where I picked it up +/-30 years later. The back brakes were certainly working as they were 99% worn. Those front shoes were cracked down the middle too. Every tie rod joint on the steering was loose, not just needy but dangerous loose worn out. One of the struts had a nice bend so the car was probably ridden hard. I’m just about done with all the suspension and steering now. The body shop tells me it will be off the rotisserie early March so maybe by May it will be off the rotisserie. He is really working it, I stop by a couple times a week.
think I’m going to put the engine on the K frame too and have it all together. Not sure my hoist will work to get all that on the trailer though?

Yes by the time we get these cars they are pretty well done in. Ridden hard and put up wet so to say. How was the body and all. The one I got needed a lot of sheet metal. What a job. Thought I would never get done drilling holes welding and grinding. Cleaning every nook and craves of the body. Do you have pic's when you bought it. Or pic's of the restoration going on. We love pic's. Russ.

I was after this car for 20 years. It sat outside in phoenix all those years. Somewhat disassembled but most everything was there.

Had to do trunk, right side wheelhouse, right side quarter, front floors and patch panel on left rear. The guy doing the panels is really good. The quarter panel and wheelhouse was to fix a really bad repair done long ago.

The pain that we go through restoring Rag top's or any of these runners is a challenge at best. Must be something in men's brains that make us want to restore these fallen muscle car's. Just can't stand to see them rot away some where with out having any love given to them. Or is it when she is all done shiny and purring like a kitten that take us back to those day's of our teen age year's. Well done to all the runner buddy's out their that have the passion to take on the challenge.

Ive been surprised at some of the millennials that have gravitated towards my RR at a few car shows. No all, but more than I would have figured. But I am surprised at the number of small kids that have no idea whole the Road Runner or Wile E Coyote are. For those that do, get ready to honk the horn numerous times as they love the Beep Beep horn and light up when they hear it... and I always Beep Beep a couple times when leaving a car show.

Those New age kid's that like the runner's have fathers that have clued them in on the past muscle car's. May be when where gone and a few more generation's go buy these car's might be forgotten. Hope not. May the live on.
