Ok guys, first I want to start off with saying Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your forums! When I was a kid my dad had several 69 roadrunners and he instilled my love for these cars in my blood. When I was 10 years old he passed away and he had already sold his cars. Long story short, fast forward to 2018, I'm now 31 and have put a lot of time in to trying to track down at least one of his old cars. Luckily, I have found one of his cars but unfortunately for me the guy is a mopar collector and does not want to sell at this time. However he did mention to me that if I could find a comparable 383 matching numbers car that he would be interested in trading possibly. I would be willing to pay dang near anything to get this car back but would really like to know kind of a rough idea what it would be worth. The guy is super nice and did allow me to come see the car in person this past weekend. The car is solid, no rust, runs and drives but it does need a lot of work..I know it's probably dang near impossible to get a real value just by pictures but would any of you guys be able to give me your opinion on a rough value for this car? Again it does need some interior and exterior work but what does a numbers matching 383 needing a little work go for with 68k on the odometer? He may never sell me the car and he may never trade me even if I find a car equal or more value but I would still like to get an idea of what this car could be worth. I would really appreciate any input that you could give me 20180812_112334.jpg

Its probably been a year+ since it's been ran. Unfortunately I didn't get fender tag, and where would I find the broadcast sheet? Thanks for the input

    OK, according to Hagerty's Price guide for a 1969 2-door Cpe / 383-335HP Automatic:

    A concours restored #1 vehicle: $64,800
A Number 2 defined as a former #1 Car but has some age to the restoration: $41,200
A number 3 car defined as drive and run well, fresh paint, may have some incorrect parts, not for daily use and the casual passer by would find no flaws: $28,600
A number 4 car is a driver, some pitted chrome, flaws in the paint, no major missing parts, non stock wheels: $20,700.

Based on this I would say that quikbird's estimate is spot on.

no fender tag is a problem since that told you what came on the car originally, and what therefore could have been changed.
broadcast sheet is a factory list of options installed on car. frequently found in springs under rear seat. problem is many are not for car they are found in.

20 thou. would not be a bad number considering what it take's to restore one. Then drop another 10K into it would make it a better car. Thing is It is not a 426 with the six pack and no four speed. Looking around these cars bring the bigger money. I will probably lose money after restoring A 69 roadrunner with 383 four speed runner with no finder tag or build sheet. But I will have the runner I always wanted. Good luck on the quest hope you get to trade for your father's former car. :thumbsup2::thumbsup2:

Well, I think we all know that you spend way more than the value of the car at the end of the day. It's not about the money, it's about the car. It's hard to say if the one pictured is a 3,4, or something less based on a few pictures. I know with my car when I got it, it looked all pretty on top, but once I got into it, internally and underneath it was a disaster. It ran like crap, had the wrong cam, bent up push rods, and all the lifters were toast, or looked like mushrooms is a better description. The engine was close to falling out of the car, everything holding it in was rotten. The floor was like a patchwork quilt and the internal metal looked like Swiss cheese, gaping holes everywhere. In reality I was not sure it could be or even worth saving, definitely way way over my pay grade. But it was my dream to have another Rag Top Runner, so I ate baloney, took a lot of crap, and paid people a lot more talented than me to do it up right. It's still not perfect, but I never intended it to be a trailer queen. But I'll continue to tinker and pick away at the imperfections. I want to drive the shit out of it. Responsibly of course, and only on sunny days and nice roads. :blah:

Well he didn't say there was no fender tag, only that he didn't get a picture of it. No fender tag on the car would hurt the value. RonLiv is spot on though, it's about getting your Dads car, not about getting some great deal. If you could put something in front of this guy worth 20-30k you would think he would bite and do the swap! Good luck.

the thing is this isn't just another '69 road runner...it was Dad's. Let your heart tell you what it's worth to YOU. Then think it over, and decide if it is worth it to you. Sometimes if a seller sees the sentiment in a buyer...it can help or hurt the cause. Good Luck!

You know Basketcase, it's really distracting when you post something and see that big green monster every time. I mean I never can read the post fully as my eyes go back to the car. :wetting:
