So I picked up a couple of the 833s with the bolt on rear flange. IDK what years thinking pre 66. Can you cut off the threaded stub on the output shaft and use them with the slip yolk type shaft??

You need to change the output/min shaft as well as the tail shaft. Much more economically sound to find one from 65-up.

You could also do this by having a driveshaft shop build & balance a new drive shaft you that has a yoke that bolts to the tranny with a slip joint. Personally, I'd just get a '66 or later tranny...
