all i have to say is that the slots rock man. Oh so sweet!!

X2

So many cars ran slots when I was a kid. I loved them then and still do. I still have a pair of vintage slots that I ran on my red 340 Duster back in the mid-eighties. At one point while I was in the USAF that car was my only transportion so I took the 15" X 3.5" Centerlines and bug tires off of the front (and the deep gears out of the rear :D ) and threw the old slots (they were old when I got them in 1980!) back on. They remained there until just a few years ago when I slapped some Cragars on it. Maybe they'll end up on it again at some point in the future. That car still has the 5 on 4" SBP so wheel choices are limited...and my garage probably provides more options than any of the current wheel manufacturers...

It was cool. Skinnies up front and N50-15 Firestone Super Sports on the rear mounted on 15" X 12' Centerlines. I had moved the springs and special ordered the rear wheels to try to keep everything under the car. It had a nasty Racer Brown (a real Purple Shaft) solid and nearly 14 to 1 compression. I loved the sound of a high compression engine barking through a seasoned pair of Walker Red Line Z mufflers...that thing sounded WICKED...the mufflers quieted it down quite a bit so all you heard was that cam and the unmistakable sound of volumetric efficiency... :D

Its going back that way. Right?! That sounds like how I would build one today. By the way, just to shield you from the pic madam, pics are in order. :toetap:

It will be last in the line-up to get redone. Can't decide how to re-do it, but there is plenty of time. If I do a full, original resto I have a lot to fix that I "modified" over the years... But it is one of only about a dozen Windsor-built '70 340 Dusters so I keep thinking about going the original route...

No pics with the skinnies in place up front. Someone "kindly" disposed of them for me...along with a long list of other things. One word: DIVORCE. That's all I'm going to say on that matter. I've put some old pics of the car up here before I'm sure...

Chris, this how it (sadly) looks today. She does a great job of storing parts and holding down the concrete... :brickwall:
