Hi all, just joined with a new project. A 69 Road Runner that was a barn find a couple decades ago and has passed hands a couple times since then. The car is currently in boxes, hanging on garage walls, and on a rotisserie. Current owner is going to re-vapor blast the patina of rust off, finish up the floors, and prime the whole car/paint the underside so I can make it a roller to bring it home. I've been working on front and rear suspension, disassembling, cleaning, replacing parts, painting, etc. to get the stuff ready to go back on the car.

It is a nearly zero option car, I was told the only option decoded from the finder tag was "Chrome drip rail moldings". Hard top, 383 4 Speed, bench seat, AM radio, 3,23's with a limited slip. (Was limited slip std. equipment on a RR? Can't find this info anywhere.), T5 "Bronze Fire Metallic" with 2 tone bronze/saddle interior, manual drums and manual steering. I have no good pictures yet as it's stuffed in his dark shop at the moment, but here are a few:

Thanks Basketcase. I was pretty sure the SG was standard on RR's and GTX's, but couldn't find anything that stated that.

My first car was a '69 Bronze metallic coronet 440 2 dr. Love the color, can't wait to see your project going along and be sure to post some photos. There are lots of guys that live for them!

Hi all, Making progress on the Roadrunner! Picked up some "drop in" motivation once the car is rolling. A greasy stock 76 400". I'll clean it up, put a new timing chain in it along with the stock RR valve covers and intake so it "looks" right. The original 383 needs more work and money than I want to wait for to get the car running so I'm dropping this in once the car comes back from paint until I can decide what I'm doing. 440", rebuild the stock 383", pull the 400" back out for a winter and build a 470" stroker? Haven't really decided yet.

Also, the welding on the body/underside is DONE! I'm going on Saturday to pick up the rest of the parts, give the car a look to make sure it is all done as expected, then it goes off for media blasting, primer, and paint on the underside, wheel wells, jams, etc. I should be bringing it home early November! I'll take some pictures on Saturday and post them up Saturday night.

Picked up most of the parts (that we could find) in his shop today. Body is almost ready for media blast and primer, then paint everywhere but the outside surfaces. Car should be coming home in a couple weeks! Some pic's I took today:

Progress! Car comes home Tuesday so I can do the remaining filling and blocking over the winter. Then color/clear on the exterior next spring.

Beautiful color combo. I have the same interior with T7 on the inner door panels. It will look great with the T5 exterior. Can't wait to see how your bird progresses!

Pretty sure limited slip was not standard. I seem to recall ordering that on my first one.
My second one (now about 2 weeks old) does not have it.

P.S.
That's gonna be a purdy car.
