Just since it was rewired? What year? Starts but when you let the key go to run it dies? Oh and hello!

Welcome. Check your ignition switch wiring. The circuit for run is not powered when the key comes off crank.

Do you have power to the ballast resistor with key in on position. Is the bulkhead connector still being used on the fire wall.

Could be a problem with the bulkhead connector. Is key switch on dash or steering column. Check to see if you have voltage with key on to the engine bay.

You mean it cranks over and tries to start like it fires on one or two cylinders but engine won't continue to idle? Maybe into the ignition switch by now hard to tell

How much of the dash wiring did you remove? 100% of it including the gauge cluster wiring?
