Hey Guys. I want to remove the radio in my RR but I cannot see how to get it past the center ducting for the A/C.

I am really hoping the whole dash or A/C / heater box does not need to come out just to remove the radio.

Any pointers or assistance or experiences you can provide would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

It should come out through the face of the dash, not out the back.

Remove the bezel, one screw on each side by the thumbwheels. Underneath there should be one nut holding it to a bracket. Slide the radio out the front.

Thank you for this, but I don't want to sound like a dufus. When you say the "front", I assume under the dash, right? Not through the opening for the radio itself because it does not look like it is going to fit through there....

What I believe I need to do is figure out how to remove the center vent duct for the A/C. The service manual is not helpful there. Once that center vent duct is removed, it looks like I can get the radio out from under the dash.

Okay, what it sounds like is that the sticky issue is removing the A/C center vent duct, so....

I really need to get that center duct removed without destroying it. It does not look like it is fastened to the A/C/heater box except that it sits on top of the box. There is a bracket on the bottom of it that attaches to the bottom of the dash.

Do I just have to maneuver it out of there?

If someone has done this, your experience would be valuable.

Now you're not trying to hijack this thread are you? I didn't think so.

SO, how do I get the center A/C duct out?

The only thing I found in the manual is where it says (disconnect at distribution duct) if its flex hose you may be able to get past the center duct by disconnecting the one end
