Let's say I want to make my 68' RR a resto mod with a new SRT8 drivetrain/interior.

1)Where to take it ? ( I have neither the time nor the know how)
2)How long ?
3)How much ?

Just playing with ideas...Thanks !!!

Neat idea, this thread should be fun to watch develop.

Questions to start to think about are how much of the srt you want to incorporate. All the way from rr shell on top to just parts added to the rr. How does the width of the srt dash compare? Been numerous articles on adding new engine Trannys into rr's. Don't remember many articles on srt suspension.

As to time and money I'd say longer than expect and at least three times your best guess on cost

I have no idea but you really need to take your time and find a shop that suits your needs.
2)How long ?
Years
3)How much ?
Probably over 100K

This Resto mod thing is super expensive. The engine and trans are over 10K plus labor. I'd bet that just the engine and trans swap would run into 30K parts and labor.

The cost & time is really hard to say,
depends on who you take it too ?,
what their labor rate is ?,
what the cost of the total parts tally of all the needed parts is ?,
what exactly is it that your expectations out of the build ??,
exactly what parts will be used & to what level of fabrication & quality ?

Fab & Specialty shops are notoriously slow, expensive &
can be a handful to deal with, like all artist/talented people are,
get an estimate {as complete as possible, some things are hard to estimate}
& a performance clause {time frame guarantee, that if they are taking too long you'll be charged less}
get both in contract form & get both in writing,
if anything needs to be changed you have to sign off on all the changes in costs...

Google search {many ways it could be phrased}
Hot Rod Shops
Automotive Fabrication Shops
Hot Rod Fabrication Shops
Race Fabrication Shops
Automotive Repair Shops
Automotive Customization shops
Car Builders & Welding/Fab. shops etc.

there should be a few in the state of Michigan,
I'm in Calif. it's a whole different ballgame out here

The easiest and fastest way to get a 3 generation Hemi powered muscle car with all the new car amenities is to go buy a new Challenger.
