Reverse Light Bulbs

OK I am having to install the reverse light bulbs on my bumper. Both bulbs look to be an S-8 size similar to the 1157 used for the brake/turn bulbs. My manual does not indicate what bulb to use. Is it a 1156, anybody?

I believe it is. Single element only

Yes it should be, but not sure what bulb size to purchase. My manual calls out a size 53, however, that bulb is for the reverse light on the dash. Also does the reverse circuit have to have the two bulbs on the bumper installed for the reverse lite on the dash to come on when the trans is in reverse?

Found it, the bulbs are 1156
