Starter Shim

OK pulled started off car to do some detailing and take 70 manifolds off and put some 69's on when I acquire some.
The starter is missing the shim, been away from 4 sp for a long time but was thinking all starters got the shim, auto/4sp.
Correct me if I am wrong.

By shim you mean the dust cover goes between the starter/bell housing?

If so you can buy them repop or used.
