Spent 3 hours today on the formula now I’ll do three more on the roadrunner.
Summer heat in Az certainly slows any real progress. Then I’m out of town for 2 weeks again.

Steve they are both black LOL Both are turn key start and drive without glass or interior. The AMX needs body paint and an exhaust system next.
Bob, I was thinking of the Charger which I knew was black, and last I heard you had a long way to go on it. I didn't remember that the AMX was also black.

Was thinking of getting a charger 69 and with the prices what they are today makes me think twice. To restore one would be really out there on parts. I saw so much money go into the bird and wondered if I had another car in me. Don't think I have another five years left to do another car plus with my aliments and arthurites. So, will just have to drive the runner and have fun.

Heat yes.
But it looks like you suffer from the same as me.
Lack of space. I spend time moving things around to work.
And of course, no lift.
Lack of space also causes things to get lost.
This car I built a dedicated car parts storage shed before I really started disassembly.
But still had to use my house for things.
And the shed is so cramped I'm wondering why I can't find the original seat belts.

May not want to find those. May not be safe to use. They deteriorate with age.

I've already bought new ones.
I need the old ones to compare unless someone can tell me the length.
The only ones being sold that are near correct state "for show use only" and they are too sort I think.
China strikes again.
For some reason I was able to find my 2 shoulder belts from the headliner.
Guess I took those off later in the disassembly.
And they are fine.
But I don't think the lap belts are long enough.
(It looks like other people are having the same problem. )
I can't put the seat in the car just to check.
What I'm thinking is that I'll send the lap belts out the have longer webbing installed.

This is the only one being sold that I could find that has the correct clips.
Everything else has a different system type of clip.

I work for the company that made the originals (American Safety, now AMSAFE). I have searched engineering archives for the original blueprints but they are gone. Still have some of the square buckle designs though. On the old original belts, I did a tensile test on one. Think the spec is 3000 lbs. my 1969 baked belt broke at 3200 lbs. and it was a buckle failure not even the web. I still wouldn’t use the old ones though.

That's an interesting coincidence.
I noticed original shoulder buckles have American Safety on them.
The China buckles don't but they look the same.
I've been driving 70s A bodies for years with the original belts.
They appear to be in good shape and I've got a box of junk yard A body pulls in similar appearance.
The worst wreck I've ever been in was about 1978.
Not my fault
Lightly T boned my 1969 Coronet by a 1968 Fairlane.
Bounced me across lanes into a telephone pole and back.
I stayed in the seat with a lap belt.
The way I figure it if the accident is really bad, an old lap belt is going to be the least of our problems in these cars.
I'm sure everyone has seen the Impala on Impala crash.
