I went to see the progress that's been made on my vert over the past couple of days. We're still looking good. He was prepping the deck lid this evening and the hood goes on tomorrow.

Also, my seat covers arrived from Legendary today! They're pretty nice! Have to thank Harold again for setting me up with a good set of seats to work with.

I sold my 72 Satellite seats today too. I didn't get as much as I wanted out of them, but they weren't in the best shape, and I'm confident they're heading to a good home.

On a side note, my "mud shields???" for the inside of my fenders are missing. Anyone know if repops are available? And what would the official name of this part be?

Breaking into the 440 tomorrow and getting it ready for to be hot tanked sometime next week.

Check out today's pics....

My $100 deck lid is looking like a solid investment. The third lid is a charm!

AMD has what you need. Splash shields is what they are called. Although they are a little high. A used set should be easy enough to round up.

Is that your son eye balling the vert? Looks like a gear head in the making.

Thanks Harold.
That's my lil man Nathan. He's all about the Roadrunner. I can't wait to take him on the maiden voyage here pretty soon.

On the splash shields, I noticed there's the shields themselves for about $180, then the mounting hardware is $30, and the upper seal for the splash shield at $35/fender. Also, the K member splash shield is $80. I'm thinking I need all this stuff.
That's $360!!! Damn, this never ends...

that's great progress! $100 for that decklid was great. I found one for my other car at the Nats a few years ago. Never dreamed I could afford it. Seller aw me looking at it, and said $75. I grabbed it. It was the right color (F8) and the bird decal was even good. almost gave myself heat stroke carrying it out till some guys on one of the hated golf carts gave me a ride. Did you know a ;69 road runner decklid will fit in the cab of a Dodge truck? (I wasn't done shopping yet :D )

Some advice for the seats... Wait for a nice sunny day and get the seat covers nice and toasty in the sun before putting them on. They go on much easier without wrinkles.

It saved me alot of time by buying the re-pops. Also if someome has to fix those old ones @ 50.00 hr., You'll exactly save money. Those show somewhat when people look @ your car. Also buy all the new rubbers, those old ones served their purpose for over 40 years.

Thanks guys.

The bolts will get painted with the car. He's just laying down red paint on the "between" areas that wont show as insurance. It's not even the exact R4 red that he's using, just something so there are no paint gaps.

I'll have to go repop on those splash shields for sure. The ones I have a toasted.

The seats are going to a shop for professional installation. I have about $2K into my seats, and want them to be perfect.
