Re: Torque Boxes and Frame Connectors with new floors at bot

Rear Torque Boxes go in on Friday. That should hold her tight while I rip apart the 833 and rear. LOL.

George, thanks. He's doing a nice job. I know NOTHING about welding so it looks sloppy to me, but apparently he's doing it right. Let me know if you ever see anything not up to snuff, I want my baby to be perfecto.

IF THE GUY IS A GOOD WELDER HE SHOULDNT HAVE TO GRIND HIS WELDS ......IF HE WELDS INTO RUST IT WILL JUST BOIL OUT AND WONT BE WORTH A SHIT......BASICLY HE IS JUST TACK WELDING WHICH IS ALL YOU NEED EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT AND REAR CONNECTIONS OF YOUR FRAME CONNECTORS......ON BODY WORK HE SHOULD BE SEAL WELDING WITH NO HOLES AFTERWARDS

You haven't seen me weld upside down
keeping a tight arc and running the correct amps is the secret to weld overhead

Looks like he's using flux core wire to me. On clean metal I would no doubt use a gas shield, but on the rust impregnated metal flux core gets a good bite. I would have used the gas shield on the trunk pans, but to each his own.
Looks like nice progress!!
