Transmission Color

Getting ready to put my rebuilt motor back in the Roadrunner. Does anyone know the original color of the transmission? Was it Cast Iron Gray, or something else?

I'm painting the block back to Hemi Orange and want to restore the transmission to its OEM color. I recall it being a different color than the block. The photo below is from when I pulled the motor and trans.

My bell housing was engine color orange Trans was not painted. St. Louis car.

Trans was natural cast with inspection paint daubs and rack numbers. The bell housing was on the motor when painted but usually didn't get much paint kind of like the exhaust manifolds they were kind of just in the way. That being said I don't like rust so I painted my transmission cast with the markings and I found and it matched my broadcast sheet 18 spline hemi box the bolts are black phosphorus
