I have been looking for a 70 Roadrunner for some time. I am very close to going to see this car in person and pulling the trigger. I know a lot can be learned from looking at the trunk area of a car but I’m just not that educated in this area. Anybody see anything troubling here or does all look 1970 legit? Thank you in advance.

From those pics it looks fine. Do you have pics from underneath?

No. Not yet. Looking at it in person tomorrow. Guy has a lift and said I was welcome to inspect every inch of the car while it was up.

Check around rear window and front windshield where A pillars are. Look at the lower cowl in car. Look at the drop downs around the wheel well's and the rear tail panel area. Check cross member and all the struts. That dose not cover it all it is a lot to look over. Like rocker's - bottoms of doors. Front fender well's. Take a good long look. Might take a magnet to check for bond o. :thumbsup2:

At least part of the trunk pan has been replaced, it is missing some factory drain holes.

Well, good question, lol! I feel like I have a fairly good understanding of good/bad bodywork, panel fit, paint quality etc but it’s the trunk area that I always seem to learn from people. Going to see the car today. Hope to be bringing it home. I have looked at a few turds recently so hoping this is the one!

I have looked at the following
    70 Super Bee 39k
    70 GTX 37k
    70 RR 37k
    70 RR 40k
All but the 37k RR were turds with numerous condition issues that were either glossed over, not shown clearly in pics or video or just out right lied about. The 37k RR was Dark green in and out and I just didn’t love it enough to spend the money. When I say turds I am talking about rust, bondo bubbles, filthy dirty and in the case of the GTX it wouldn’t even stay running long enough to get on my trailer even if I wanted to buy it. I am asking tons of questions, asking for pictures and videos and I’m still having my time wasted. A little frustrating but I am not throwing in the towel yet.

Pictures do not always tell you every thing. I was ready to fly to many states to look at Roadrunners. Most where junk and where asking far to much for them. Found mine close to home. The motor ran good and knew it would need body work. But had to replace the automatic transmission for the four speed that was in the car when sold. Try to bring it back and it is not cheap. But once you get started you can't go back. Keep up the hunt and their is one out their for you.
